SMART Energiapalvelut chose Aidon’s service platform

Finnish service provider SMART Energiapalvelut will provide a metering service for energy distribution service operator Sallilan Sähkönsiirto, using Aidon’s SaaS solution.

SMART Energiapalvelut (SMART) is an experienced provider of electricity metering and reading services. It has several years of experience with Aidon’s on-premises AMM system. When renewing its service structure, SMART signed an agreement with Aidon on a new service package. It covers the reading system platform provided by Aidon as a SaaS service and Aidon’s Connectivity as a Service for connections between devices and the system. Utilising this service package and enriching it with its own services, SMART produces a full-fledged metering service for its own customers, including the necessary integrations between the customer companies’ systems and the reading service platform.

– We chose the solution package offered by Aidon as the basis for our new service portfolio, as we already have good experiences of cooperation. Working with a domestic company has been easy and flexible, and we believe that with the agreement now signed, our cooperation will be even closer and more comprehensive, says Tapio Heinonen, Product Manager, Measurement and Reading Services at SMART Energiapalvelut.

The first customer company to utilise the new service of SMART is Sallila Sähkönsiirto. The company has a total of approximately 23,000 metering points. In the coming years, they will be equipped with Aidon’s 7000-series metering devices. Both an RF-based mesh solution and an LTE-M/NB-IoT-based point-to-point solution are used for connectivity.

– In the choice of the meter provider, it was important for us to choose a responsible company and a versatile product, and as to the service provider, we wanted a local Finnish company, says Hannu Halminen, Business Director of Sallila Sähkönsiirto.

Aidon’s AMM technology has been developed to be flexible, upgradable and suitable for different types of customer environments and service models. The cloud-based platform and the alternative communication technologies enable the system deployment and device installations to be done in stages at a pace defined by the customer.

– Aidon’s modern service platform and next-generation devices, together with the comprehensive expertise of SMART, form a strong AMR 2.0 solution. Sallila Sähkösiirto’s choice of this package is a great pleasure for us. We are confidently looking forward to the upcoming cooperation and its further expansion to other customer companies utilising the total solution of SMART, says Vesa Taanila, Key Account Manager at Aidon.
