Porvoon Sähköverkko and Aidon sign agreement on metering system renewal

The long-term cooperation between Aidon Oy and Porvoon Sähköverkko Oy, which is part of the Porvoon Energia group, continues: the companies have signed an agreement on a comprehensive solution for the metering renewal, which covers the next-generation electricity meters and device connectivity supplied by Aidon, as well as metering service and meter data management for ten years. Approximately 40,000 electricity meters will be renewed in Porvoon Sähköverkko’s operating area.

– Our goal is a high-quality and cost-effective comprehensive solution that meets the evolving needs of our company and the electricity market. In a renewal project like this, it is crucial – while building a new system environment – to ensure seamless operation of the existing devices and systems as well as a smooth transition to the new system. That is why we are embarking on the new project with confidence, and I am happy that our successful cooperation with a company familiar to us will continue, says Tomas Nordström, Customer Service Manager at Porvoon Sähköverkko.

Petteri Heinänen, Business Unit Director, Aidon Finland, wants to thank Porvoon Sähköverkko for the trust and the active customer relationship.

– Porvoon Sähköverkko has made advanced use of the meter-generated data already within their current system, especially in grid maintenance and quick resolving of fault situations. Tomas and the company have also made a strong contribution to the development of the Aidon One, which is our SaaS solution for managing field work processes. I believe that our active cooperation will continue and expand even further, as our new technology solutions will bring completely new opportunities for utilising measurement and network data in the proactive maintenance and planning of the distribution grid, for example, Petteri says.
