Aidon to deliver smart metering system to Danish TREFOR El-net

Aidon, a Gridspertise company, has signed a contract with TREFOR El-net, a Danish electricity distribution company based in Kolding, southeastern Jutland, for a modern electricity metering system. The agreement covers the delivery of about 30,000 electricity meters, as well as data connectivity and head-end system and as a service.

TREFOR El-net will install the new Aidon meters as a partial replacement of the company’s total fleet of 150,000 electricity meters over the coming years. The contract was awarded to Aidon following an open tender process.

The advanced capabilities of the new smart meters offer exciting opportunities for utilising the data in new ways for power grid management and new customer services. The project phase included in the agreement will be carried out during 2026–2027. After that, TREFOR El-net will continue installing the Aidon meters over the following years.
