Aidon and GISA announce strategic partnership to enhance energy transition in Germany
Aidon, a leading supplier of smart metering and smart grid solutions based in Finland, and GISA, an experienced IT service provider and German certified cloud service provider, are pleased to announce their strategic partnership aimed at advancing the energy transition in Germany.
The collaboration between Aidon and GISA focuses on the development and implementation of a low-voltage monitoring solution tailored for the German-speaking market. This innovative solution will empower distribution system operators to meet the stringent requirements of §14a EnWG, thereby contributing to a more efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure. By combining Aidon’s expertise in hardware manufacturing, smart metering, and low voltage grid monitoring with GISA’s Smart Data platform and extensive experience in the German energy market, the companies aim to provide a comprehensive solution for energy distribution network operators.
The collaboration started with a joint project in which the companies delivered a pilot to Stadtwerke Meerane GmbH, a local distribution system operator serving ca 14.000 customers in Saxony. In February 2025, five local distribution transformer stations were equipped with Aidon devices to measure and collect detailed information about the outgoing feeder lines. The data is collected to GISA Smart Data platform to be utilised for the management of the loads and unbalance in the network according to the regulation for EnWG § 14a.
