A Swedish energy distribution service operator Tekniska verken and the Finnish Aidon Oy signed on Wednesday a contract, according to which Aidon will deliver to Tekniska verken a total solution for reading of electricity, water and district heat meters and for utilising intelligent data in the energy distribution. Delivery of 95 000 smart electricity meters is included in the contract. The installations of the meters and the introduction of the system will start in May 2020.<\/p>\n

\u2013 The purpose of the exchange of electricity meters is, among other things, to ensure a reliable operation of the electricity grid and to reduce the power peaks in order to cope with the increasing generation of renewable electricity and the electrification of the society. Furthermore, the new meters will make it easier for our customers to get an overview of their energy consumption. It feels safe that Aidon, with its vast experience in installations throughout the Nordic region, will be the supplier of Tekniska verken, says\u00a0Lovisa Fricot Nor\u00e9n<\/strong>, CEO of Tekniska verken.<\/p>\n

In Sweden, ca 5.4 million electricity meters will be changed by the end of 2024. The reason for this is the new legislation according to which the energy distribution system operators must use more detailed data for managing the supply quality, to provide their customers with the possibility to manage their own consumption, as well as shorten the imbalance settlement period to 15 minutes according to EU regulation.<\/p>\n
